WATCH: When Sir Viv Richards Refused To Run Out Pakistani Batter At Non-Striker's End

Cricket has always been referred to as a gentleman's game because it portrays a wholesome sportsmanship spirit. To prove this statement, one of the old videos of the match between Pakistan and the West Indies has gone viral and buzzing the internet. Talking about the video, legendary West Indies batter Sir Viv Richards was spotted giving a perfect example of sportsmanship by giving away the opportunity to run out a  Pakistani batter at the non-striker's end.

In the video, the great cricketer was seen bowling to a Pakistani batter who wanted to drive the ball but then it ended up hitting the player at the non-striker's end and went straight back to Viv. By then, the runner already crossed more than the half part and was evidently short of his crease, and then came Richards who gave a perfect example by choosing not to run out the batter.

Viv surprised everyone by not throwing the ball as he signaled the batter to get back to his crease and his heartwarming gesture grabbed everyone’s attention.

In a career spanning 17 long years for West Indies, he scalped 118 wickets in 187 ODIs and 32 wickets in 121 Tests and made 8540 and 6721 runs in Tests and ODIs, respectively.

Talking about his personal life, Viv had a relationship with Bollywood actress Neena Gupta. Both even have a daughter named Masaba who was born on November 2, 1988, and Neena raised her alone as Neena and Viv did not marry each other. Meanwhile, Masaba Gupta was married to the producer Madhu Mantena. After getting hitched in June 2015, the couple declared their separation in 2019. Actor Aditi Rao Hydari was Satyadeep's first wife. In 2013, the couple separated.
