WATCH: Shami produces lethal spell to decimate Windies batting in Manchester

Shami took four for sixteen in yet another terrific spell of seam bowling to run through the West Indian batting order.

Virat Kohli-led India inflicted a crushing 125-run win over West Indies in the ICC World Cup encounter at Old Trafford in Manchester on Thursday. While Kohli's half ton helped India post a competitive 268-run total, seamer Mohammad Shami was the architect of the Indian win with the ball. Shami took four for sixteen in yet another terrific spell of seam bowling to run through the West Indian batting order. Shami carried on from where he left against Afghanistan by producing a fiery spell of bowling against the Windies. Shami bowled a nagging length at the start of the Windies innings to test both openers, Chris Gayle and Sunil Ambris. He probed consistently around the off stumps and tested the patience of Chris Gayle to eventually scalp  the attacking opener with a short pitch delivery. Shami then clean bowled Shai Hope with a peach of a delivery to send the talented West Indian batsman back to the pavilion. Shami's relentless pressure from one side helped the Indian spinners get into the game and produce their magic to make inroads into the middle order.

Shami returned back with another probing spell to dismiss dangerous strokemaker Shimron Hetmeyer to deny West Indies any chances of making a possible comeback. It indeed was Shami's day as he scalped Number 11 Oshane Thomas to help India register a clinical 125 run-win over West Indies and inch closer to a semifinal berth at the ICC World Cup. Shami has been in spectacular form with the ball, taking eight wickets in his two games for India at the World Cup. He produced a game changing hat-trick against Afghanistan in his last outing to help India inflict a narrow win over their Asian neighbours.
