WATCH: David Warner Pushes Matthew Wade After Angry On-Field Spat In BBL Clash

The incident happened during Hobart Hurricanes' run-chase.

Australia's David Warner and Matthew Wade were involved in a heated argument on field during a Big Bash League (BBL) match between Hobart Hurricanes and Syndey Thunder at the Blundstone Arena in Hobart on Tuesday. While Sydney Thunder batted first and were bowled out for 135, Hurricanes chased down the score with 5 wickets in and 23-balls remaining.

It is pertinent to note though that it wasn't as convincing a run chase as the scorecard suggests as the Hurricanes were at one stage 3 down for 20 runs on the board. It could have been a worse situation for the chasing team had Ollie Davies not dropped Wade when the wicketkeeper-batter was batting Chrison 3.

Eventually, it was the chance that Wade got which proved to be the turning point as he along with Tim David went on to add 79 runs for the fourth wicket and put Hurricanes on the drivers' seat. It was during a tensed situation of the run chase that Wade and Green appeared to lose their cool.

While Green had started his run-up, Wade decided to pull up and after the drinks interval, Wade went to Warner who appeared to push the batter away. Wade's stay at the crease didn't last long as he was removed 3 balls later.

I was trying to be the peace keeper: David Warner

“I’m picking my battle — he is smaller, I will take him on,” Warner joked after the match while talking to Channel 7.

“Actually, I don’t know, honestly I don’t know. It was something between these two, I don’t know if it’s history or not. But honestly I’ve got no idea what it was," he added.

“I don’t know what that last ball was, I’m not sure if Wadey said something or Greeny said something. I can’t work it out. Just trying to settle him down. He’s just like a little barking dog.

“I was trying to be the peace keeper there for once. They kept going. I don’t know one was saying ‘you stay out of it, it’s not your business.’ The other was saying ‘I can say what I want’.
