The things didn’t change over the days as Warner continued receiving a blow from the gallery. Initially, he didn’t react to any of the words but on Saturday, he gave an epic response to Edgbaston crowd who were chanting ‘he's got sandpaper in his hands’.
While fielding at near the boundary rope, the crowd shot unending sledges to the former vice-captain but in what they received in return was never expected. After listening to the ‘sandpaper’ chants, Warner opened his palms to show he wasn't holding any and even turned his pockets out.

Warner may have had tackled the blow from the audience but he failed to do anything great with the bat. After getting dismissed for just 2 runs in the first innings, he was sent backpacking on 8 by Stuart Broad in the second. Australia were left hoping for another major innings from Steve Smith as England took charge of the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston on Saturday. When bad light cut short the third day's play, Australia were 124-3 in their second innings -- a lead of just 34 runs. Travis Head was 21 not out, with the pair's stand worth 49 runs.
