Fans Rejoice! Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma May Be Back In Action This Month

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were last seen in Indian colors during the Champions Trophy, where their presence was instrumental in helping India clinch the title.

Team India is currently engaged in a Test series on the tour of England. However, fans are missing the presence of star players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who had announced their retirement from Test cricket just before the start of the series.

Since then, their absence has been strongly felt, and fans have been eagerly waiting to see both veterans back in action.

Now, there’s good news—this wait might soon be over. As per recent reports, discussions are underway between the BCCI and the Sri Lanka Cricket Board for an upcoming ODI and T20I series, which is likely to be organized in August.

In this series, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are expected to return to the field.

Series against Bangladesh postponed

India was originally scheduled to play a three-match ODI and T20 series against Bangladesh in August.

However, the series has now been postponed until August 2026, owing to the political tensions in Bangladesh. Coincidentally, the Sri Lanka Premier League has also been pushed back, leaving a vacant window in August.

This creates a suitable opportunity for both boards. According to a report in Newswire, BCCI and Sri Lanka Cricket are in continuous talks to utilize this window for a bilateral series.

Last seen in Champions Trophy

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were last seen in Indian colors during the Champions Trophy, where their presence was instrumental in helping India clinch the title.

Rohit’s unforgettable 76-run knock in the final against New Zealand still resonates with fans. After India’s T20 World Cup win, both players announced their T20I retirement, and now only feature in ODI formats for Team India.
