Virat Kohli Currently Out Of India, Availability For Last Three Tests vs England Doubtful: Report
IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli, who had pulled out of the first two Test matches, is currently out of India and his availability for the last three matches against England remains doubtful
India are on the backfoot in the five-match home Test series against England, having lost the series opener at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Playing without the services of their experienced batter Virat Kohli, who pulled out of the first two Test matches against the Three Lions citing personal reasons, India lost the match by 28 runs. It is not good news for the team management and the Indian cricket fans who were hoping that Kohli will be able to rejoin the squad anytime soon.
A report carried by Cricbuzz has confirmed that Kohli is out of India. With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) requesting the media not to speculate the reason behind Kohli's absence, the same report has not mentioned the reason behind Kohli's absence from the game. However, it claims there there remain doubts over his availability for the final three Test matches of the series.
BCCI Yet To Hear From Virat Kohli Regarding His Return
Earlier, a different media report had confirmed that the BCCI has not heard anything from Kohli regarding his return.
"We haven’t heard anything from him (Virat Kohli) on his return as yet," a BCCI official had told TOI.
With doubts over Kohli's availability and reports suggesting all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja might have to miss out on the third Test in Rajkot as well after being ruled out of the second Test due to a hamstring injury sustained in the fourth innings of Hyderabad Test, there could be serious selection headache for India ahead.
Additonally, the Cricbuzz reports has also claimed that Shami continues to struggle with an ankle problem and is currently in London, undergoing treatment. The only major relief for the BCCI is that KL Rahul, who was ruled out of the second Test after complainig of a quadriceps complain, looks set to be fit in time for the third Test beginning in Rajkot on February 15.
