'There Was Pressure': Arshdeep Singh Talks About How He Felt Playing In Front Of Family In Florida

The Indian team played terrific cricket and won the fourth T20 International, levelling the five-match Twenty20 cricket series at 2-2.

The Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh had a great day with the ball during the fourth T20 International against the West Indies on Saturday. He ended up picking three wickets after giving away just 38 runs. In a recent chat with Shubman Gill, Singh spoke about the pressure he felt as his family members were present in the stands during the fourth T20I in Florida.

Team India’s young speedster took the wickets of  Kyle Mayers and Brandon King in the powerplay and then dismissed Shimron Hetmyer in the final over. Talking about the game, Arshdeep said that he decoded the conditions quickly.

“I read the conditions quickly and realised that it is pretty flat. I bowled slower ones on my hard length,” Singh told Shubman Gill in a video posted by BCCI.

“It was pre-planned, Father is in Canada to play some tournament. So he tagged along with my brother and came to the USA to watch me play”, Arshdeep said.

“There was a bit of extra support. There was pressure also to perform well in front of them,” he added.

The Indian team played terrific cricket and won the fourth T20 International, levelling the five-match Twenty20 cricket series at 2-2. After choosing to bat first, riding on Shimron Hetmyer (61) and Shai Hope (45), Windies ended up scoring 178 for 8 in 20 overs. In reply, Jaiswal scored an unbeaten 84 runs while Gill made 77, helping India win the game by nine wickets in Florida on Saturday. Both Gill and Jaiswal shared a 165-run stand for the first wicket which is now the third-highest stand for the Indian team in the shortest format of the game. 

For India, Arshdeep Singh (3/38) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/26) scraped most of the wickets for India and tormented the West Indies batters.
