In the final match of the qualifying stage, Ireland won the toss and chose to bat first. Jan Frylinck was the pick of the bowlers who picked up three wickets and gave away 21 runs.
When Namibia came out to bat, their Powerplay score was 27/1, but a decent partnership by Erasmus and David Wiese for the third wicket took the African country home.
They will play their next match against Scotland on 27 October, followed by matches against Afghanistan, Pakistan, New Zealand, and India.
David Wiese who won the man of the match award dedicated it to the captain saying that Erasmus played a good innings. "We said in the previous press conference that we are in a pretty tight ship and I think for a small cricketing nation, we are very proud and it means a lot. I think the achievement is one heck of a one and I think we should be proud of ourselves tonight," said Gerhard Erasmus, the captain of Namibia after winning the match.
