Steve Smith 10000 Test Runs: Leendary Australian batsman Steve Smith has etched his name in the history books by becoming the 4th Australian to score 10,000 Test Runs. The 'Smudge' achieves the feat during the ongoing 1st Test match between Sri Lanka and Australia at the Galle International Stadium in Galle.
The feat was achieved in the 31st over, as Steve Smith took a single off Prabath Jayasuriya's delivery with his very first ball, as he now becomes the 4th Australian, and 15th overall cricketer to score 10,000 Test runs.

Steve Smith is now the 3rd fastest player to achieve the feat, behind Brian Lara (195 innings); Sachin Tendulkar (195 innings); Kumar Sangakkara (195 innings); and Ricky Ponting (196 innings).
Australia have truly been world-class in the 1st session of the Day 1 of the 1st Test, as the reigning World Test champions have made Sri Lanka look helpless on their home-surface.
The Warne-Muralitharan Trophy 2025 is a two-match Test series, which will have no impact on the outcome of WTC Finalists, as it is for the first time in the history of World Test Championship that Sri Lanka are not directly involved in determining the two teams to contest the Final.
Steve Smith has achieved the feat as the captain of Australia, thereby, carrying the nation's tradition of crossing the 10,000 run-mark in Test Cricket whilst being the skipper of the side.
If Sri Lanka are to avoid any further misery, they need to scalp the prized wickets of the New South Wales boys out there, as Usman Khawaja too, nears a much-awaited century, and the surface at Galle will not be any good to the batters in the forthcoming days.
