Pakistan's Fawad Alam Becomes The Fastest Asian To Score 5 Centuries In Test Matches

Fawad Alam Century Record: Alam is followed by Pujara who scored five centuries in 24 innings, Ganguly and Gavaskar in 25 innings, while the age-old legend of India, Vijay Hazare did it in 26 innings.

West Indies vs Pakistan: Pak's Fawad Alam who plays in the middle order in Test matches has become the fastest Asian batsman to reach five centuries. He has surpassed the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Sourav Ganguly, Sunil Gavaskar, and other Asian greats to reach this feat.

Fawad Alam scored a century against West Indies in the 2nd Test match. This was his 5th century in 22 Test innings. Alam is followed by Pujara who scored five centuries in 24 innings, Ganguly and Gavaskar in 25 innings, while the age-old legend of India, Vijay Hazare did it in 26 innings.

35-year old Fawad Alam's career is very unusual. He began his Test career opening the innings for Pakistan in 2009 against Sri Lanka. He was a youngster back then and had scored a century on Test debut. Despite that, he was dropped after just three Test matches. He was picked again in 2020 after his improved First-class performances.

On his return against England in August 2020, Alam has scored four Test match hundreds for Pakistan. In the same period, the rest of Pak batsmen have scored four hundred combined. So, Alam's contribution to Pakistan's batting in the recent past has been a treat.

Currently, Alam is playing the second Test match against West Indies. Pakistan has a lead of 263 runs at stumps on Day 3. Pakistan is trailing in the series by 1-0 and will look to take advantage in the rain-struck 2nd Test match.

The Karachi-based batsman is looking to make the most of his remaining career.
