SL v ENG, 5th ODI: Curran brothers script history for England Cricket
It happened after English skipper Eoin Morgan was rested for the final ODI
England Cricket’s Curran Bros – Tom Curran and Sam Curran – wrote a new chapter in the history book of cricket when they took the field against Sri Lanka in the 5th and the final ODI of the series on Tuesday in Colombo. In the last 20 years, they became the first sibling pair to represent the Three Lions together in an international match.
Tom and Sam have played 24 matches for England so far across all the formats. However, it was for the first time that they got the opportunity to share the English dressing room. It happened after English skipper Eoin Morgan was rested for the final ODI. Curran brothers were inducted in while Jos Buttler took the responsibility to lead the side.

Who were the last siblings to represent England?
Back in 1999, Ben Hollioake and Adam Hollioake were last brothers to play for the England men’s team. It was their last shared appearance against Sri Lanka. Ben successfully led the side to lift the Sharjah trophy while Ben lost his life in a tragic car accident at the age of 24.
Before the Holliokaes brothers, Peter and Dick Richardson played together for English side in 1957
Even three brothers played together
Alec, George and Frank Hearne played in the same Test match in Cape Town in 1892.
Legendary WG Grace played with brothers Edward and George in 1880 even before the Ashes Mythology came into the existence.
