'Worked Very Hard': Rahul Dravid's Son Samit Reacts To India U-19 Call-Up For Series Against Australia
Samit Dravid, former India batter and coach Rahul Dravid's son, reacted to his maiden Under-19 call-up for the upcoming series against Australia.
Samit Dravid, legendary India cricketer Rahul Dravid’s son, was named in India’s Under 19 squads for the forthcoming India vs Australia home series. Samit was picked in both the teams, white-ball and red-ball for the IND U19 vs AUS U19 series set to commence on September 21. Ahead of the series, Samit expressed his delight on the India Under 19 call-up and said that he has worked so hard for this feat.
In a video shared by Star Sports Kannada on X (formerly Twitter), Samit, a fast-bowling all-rounder, expressed his happiness and gratitude for being selected, mentioning that he feels great his hard work has paid off.

"First of all, I am very happy to be selected and thank you for all your wishes. I think I am feeling great, I worked very hard for this moment,” said Samit in the video.

The three-match one-day series will take place in Puducherry on September 21, 23 and 26, with Mohammad Amaan from Uttar Pradesh leading the Indian team. The series will move to Chennai for two four-day matches starting on September 30 and October 7. Soham Patwardhan from Madhya Pradesh will captain the Indian squad for the four-day matches of the tour.
Samit's All-Round Exellence In Cooch Behar Key Factor For Under 19 Call-Up
Earlier this year, Samit had a standout performance in the Cooch Behar Trophy, significantly contributing to Karnataka's first-ever title win in the tournament. The 18-year-old scored 362 runs in eight matches. He also excelled with the ball, taking 16 wickets in eight matches, including two in the final against Mumbai.
He is currently representing Mysore Warriors in the ongoing KSCA Maharaja T20 Trophy in Bengaluru. However, his performances with the bat have been underwhelming, with just 82 runs from seven innings and a highest score of 33.
