SA20 2024: Sunrisers Eastern Cape's Tom Abell produced one of the most outrageous and wildest fielding efforts ever seen on the cricket ground as his physics-defying jump and athletism is going viral worldwide.

Tom Abell's effort came in the 18th over during the first innings off Daniel Worrall as his valiant effort couldn't prevent a six for JJ Smuts, who played a wrecking ball of an innings as he scored 75 off 38. The effort wasn't successful as the Englishman was already in contact with the rope before he made contact with the ball.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape Vs Durban Super Giants Match Report

It was another run fest for teams on January 13 as Durban continued their impressive start to the season. Durban produced a stellar show with the bat as they notched up 225/3 in their 20 overs. JJ Smuts was the top run getter for them with an impressive knock of 75 off 38.

In reply, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape couldn't do much as they added more salt to their wounds after being reduced to 13/2 after 3 overs. Tom Abell didn't just steal the headlines with his outrageous effort, but also performed well with the bat as he scored 65 off 36 and ended up being the highest run getter for his side as they ended their innings on 190/9, falling short of target by 36 runs.

JJ Smuts bagged the man of the match award for his all round performance as Durban Super Giants won the match by 35 runs.
