South Africa Creates History With 10 Consecutive Test Wins

South Africa’s red-ball resurgence continues, and this match added another major milestone. With the win over Zimbabwe, South Africa now boasts 10 consecutive Test victories—a feat they’ve achieved for the first time in their Test cricket history.

Earlier, South Africa had also made headlines by clinching the World Test Championship title for the first time after defeating Australia in the final, underlining their growing dominance in the format.

Wiaan Mulder’s Captaincy Debut Turns into a Masterclass

In his very first match as Test captain, Wiaan Mulder produced an unforgettable performance. Batting first, South Africa declared their innings at a mammoth 626/7. Mulder led from the front with a stunning 367-run knock, which featured 49 boundaries and 4 sixes. This was his maiden triple century, making it one of the finest individual performances by a South African skipper.

Bedingham also contributed with a solid 82-run knock to keep the scoreboard moving.

Zimbabwe Falters Under Pressure

Zimbabwe couldn’t mount any resistance in either innings. In the first innings, they were bowled out for 170, and after being forced to follow on, they managed only 220 runs in the second innings.

South Africa’s bowlers were clinical:

In the first innings, Prenelan Subrayen starred with 4 wickets, while Mulder chipped in with 2.

In the second innings, Corbin Bosch was the standout, grabbing 4 wickets to wrap things up quickly.

Series Result: South Africa Win 2-0

With this resounding win, South Africa not only whitewashed Zimbabwe in the series but also showcased their incredible form heading into the next WTC cycle. The emergence of Wiaan Mulder as a dynamic leader and performer has added new depth to the squad, and the team’s blend of batting power and bowling precision makes them a formidable force in Test cricket.
