South African all-rounder Marco Jansen played a key role in his team's dominant victory in SA vs SL 1st Test, delivering a historic performance with the ball. Jansen claimed a stunning 7 wickets for just 13 runs in Sri Lanka's first innings, followed by 4 wickets in the second innings, bringing his total to 11 wickets in SA vs SL 1st Test match.

The star all-rounder, at just 24 years old, has shown potential to join list of esteemed Proteas legends in future. Besides his fiery bowling, Jansen is also a capable batter, recently making headlines by scoring the fastest T20 half-century against India. His all-round skills earned him a lucrative IPL contract with Punjab Kings (PBKS), who acquired him in the auction for Rs 7 crores.

In his international career, Jansen has so far bagged 60 wickets and 414 runs in 14 Tests, 35 wickets and 422 runs in 23 ODIs, and 17 wickets and 168 runs in 18 T20 matches.

Since his debut in 2021, he has quickly become one of South Africa's most promising young talents across formats.

South Africa triumphed by 233 runs over Sri Lanka in SA vs SL 1st Test at Kingsmead, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first. South Africa posted 191 runs in their first innings, while Sri Lanka’s batting crumbled, being bowled out for just 42, leaving them 149 runs behind South Africa.

In their second innings, South Africa scored 366/5, setting Sri Lanka an imposing target of 516 runs. Despite a determined fight, Sri Lanka was all out for 282, giving South Africa a mega 233-run victory.
