"We're going to bowl. Preparations have been alright. Have been managing ourselves in these new conditions. Has been challenging but we are all professionals. We played on a similar pitch and do know what to expect a little bit. I know it's going to be slightly different from what we're used to. But that's what the sport is. Not sure about the conditions too much, so thought having a target in front of us would be good. Guys missing out are Kuldeep, Sanju, Jaiswal and one more," Rohit said at the toss.

Rohit, Virat Open In IND vs IRE T20 World Cup 2024 Clash
After bowling Ireland out for 96, out walked the duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to open the batting, contrary to their plan of a right-hand, left-hand duo of Rohit and Yashasvi Jasiwal heading into the tournament in T20Is. While Rohit scored a blistering fifty before getting retired hurt as a precautionary measure, after experincing some soreness on his shoulder, Rishabh Pant's 36* off 26 was enough to finish things off in style for India after the team had lost Kohli early.
India eventually emerged victorious against Ireland by 8 wickets, getting over the line with 46 balls remaining. They will meet Pakistan in their next match on June 9 (Sunday).
