In the BCCI AGM meeting on Tuesday, former India cricketer Roger Binny replaced Sourav Ganguly as the new BCCI President. Binny is now the 36th president of the BCCI. He is not a novice to cricket administration as he had been assigned several positions with the Karnataka Cricket Association. In 2019, he was picked as KSCA's president. Roger Binny has served as the senior national men's team selector in the past and was on the panel when the squad for the 2015 World Cup was picked.

Roger Binny is one of the finest players to have played for India. He donned the Indian jersey in a total of 27 Test matches and 72 ODIs in which he scalped 47 and 77 wickets respectively. Binny was a part of the Indian squad that won the 1983 World Cup. He played a crucial role in India’s winning run under Kapil Dev.
