‘Raised Voice Against Yediyurappa, His Son’: Suspended BJP Leader Targets Modi On Nepotism, Refuses To Apologise
Basangouda Yatnal accused Yediyurappa and his family of turning the Karnataka BJP into their personal domain, contradicting PM Narendra Modi’s pledge to end nepotism and corruption in politics.

Senior Karnataka leader Basangouda Patil Yatnal, expelled from the BJP, has defended his stance, claiming he was targeted for speaking out against BS Yediyurappa and his son Vijayendra Yediyurappa. Yatnal accused the former Chief Minister and his family of turning Karnataka BJP into their personal domain, contradicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pledge to end nepotism and corruption in politics.
"PM Modi, in every public rally, has always spoken that he will end nepotism, corruption, and politics of 'adjustment'. I have also raised my voice for the same and was expelled from the party. I will not apologise as I haven't committed any crime," Yatnal asserted, as per ANI.

Despite his expulsion, Yatnal insisted that he remains committed to the BJP’s ideology and legacy leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani. However, he expressed concerns that Modi, while a strong leader, may not be fully aware of the ground realities within the party's Karnataka unit due to his national and international responsibilities.
"I have never criticised my party, as the party is like my mother. I believe that the party will take me back once they realise that I am a good leader," Yatnal said, maintaining his loyalty to the BJP.
No Plans To Join Congress Or JDS
Dismissing speculation about a switch to rival parties, Yatnal firmly ruled out joining Congress or JD(S). However, he hinted at a major political decision on Vijayadashami, should the BJP not reconsider its stance.
"If the BJP calls me back with all respect, I'll be in the BJP; otherwise, I'll announce my decision on Vijayadashmi," he declared, leaving room for political speculation about his next steps.
