Records Steve Smith Broke With His 36th Test Ton In SL vs AUS 2nd Test

Steve Smith continues to solidify his legacy as one of the greatest Test batters of the modern era.

Australian batting legend Steve Smith (103 not out) has notched up his 36th Test century on Day 2 of the second Test between Sri Lanka and Australia at the Galle International Stadium on Friday (February 7).

This marks Steve Smith's second consecutive hundred at the venue, having also reached the three-figure mark in the first Test. With yet another masterclass in red-ball cricket, Smith continues to solidify his legacy as one of the greatest Test batters of the modern era.

Smith, one of the most consistent red-ball batters of this era, has now registered his fourth Test century in his last five matches. This marks his 17th Test century as captain and his 7th in Asian conditions.

With his latest century in Sri Lanka, Steve Smith has equaled Rahul Dravid and Joe Root's tally of 36 Test hundreds. All three now share the same number of Test tons in international cricket.
