Out Of Team, But Not Out Of Form: 3 IPL Star Aiming For India Comeback

Performances of these three players so far in IPL 2025 suggest a potential return to the national side might be on the horizon.

The IPL 2025 season is in full swing, and with 23 matches already completed, several players - both young and experienced - have been turning heads with their performances.

Among them are a few cricketers who were once part of Team India but have since been out of the squad. However, their performances this season suggest a potential return to the national side might be on the horizon.

Let's take a look at three such players making a strong statement in IPL 2025.

3 Players Making Strong Case For India Comeback

1. Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan has quietly become one of the most consistent performers for Gujarat Titans. Although he has made his India debut, opportunities have been limited. But in IPL 2025, he's let his bat do the talking - scoring 273 runs in five innings at an average of 54.60.

He's looked confident, composed, and dependable, making major contributions at the top of the order. With this kind of consistency, the selectors might find it hard to overlook him much longer.

2. Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar, who has previously represented India in both Tests and ODIs, was dropped from the squad last year following a poor run against England. Since then, he's worked hard in domestic cricket and is now showing his class in the IPL.

In five matches so far, Patidar has scored 161 runs at an average of 40.25 and a strike rate of 175. His two half-centuries this season underline his form and hunger to return to the international arena.

3. R Sai Kishore

Left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore is making the most of his opportunities with Gujarat Titans this season. With 10 wickets in just five matches, he's emerged as one of the most effective spinners in the tournament.

While he had earlier featured for India during the Asian Games, consistent chances eluded him afterward. Now, with his current form, Sai Kishore could soon be seen as a potential backup - or even replacement—for Ravindra Jadeja in Team India.
