MS Dhoni is the most intelligent cricketer around: Kohli

New Delhi: Virat Kohli will lead the Indian cricket team for the first time after Mahendra Singh Dhoni decide to step aside and make way for the in-form Indian Test captain.

India will play England in Pune on 15th January in three match ODI series before battling out in T20’s.

The 28-year-old India captain was in full praise of his predecessor during the pre-match press conference. Kohli said, “He (Dhoni) is someone who has been very smart in decision making as far as appeals are concerned, so his word will be the one I’ll trust because he is in the best position and he is the most intelligent cricketer around.”

While MS Dhoni, talking to the media on Friday said, “Wicketkeeper is always the vice-captain of the side. I will have to keep a close eye on what the skipper wants. I already had a chat with Virat on where he wants his fields. I will have to be aware,” he said.

“I will be there to give as many suggestions to him as and when he wants. I will have to keep a close eye to read the field positioning,” he added.
