Mohammed Siraj’s Double Strike Rocks Australia On Day 2 Of IND vs AUS BGT Test At Sydney | WATCH

Mohammed Siraj showcased his brilliance on Day 2 of the final IND vs AUS BGT Test at Sydney, striking twice in the same over to dismiss Sam Konstas and Travis Head.

Mohammed Siraj was back to his lethal best on Day 2 of the last India vs Australia Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 2 (Saturday). Siraj started the day with precision, consistently maintaining his line outside the off stump to test the Australian batters. His persistence soon paid off as he delivered Team India two wickets in the same over as he sent Sam Konstas and Travis Head back in the hut to render Australia 39-4.

Bowling his fifth over of Day 2, Mohammed Siraj induced an edge from Sam Konstas' bat, with Yashasvi Jaiswal completing a safe catch at gully on the second ball of his over. Next came the in-form Travis Head, the leading run-scorer in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Siraj began with a good-length delivery swinging down the leg, narrowly missing Head's flick shot. He followed it up with a full delivery that Head punished with a well-timed on-drive for a boundary. Undeterred, Siraj adjusted his length, delivering a shorter ball that skidded off the surface with extra bounce. The delivery caught Head off guard, forcing a thick outside edge straight to second slip. It was a perfect start for India on Day 2 as Australia found themselves at 39-4.

Jasprit Bumrah Scripts History... Yet Again

Earlier on Day 2, Jasprit Bumrah gave India a fantastic start by dismissing Marnus Labuschagne for just 2 runs. In his second over of the day, the stand-in captain found a faint edge off Labuschagne’s bat, which was safely pouched by Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. With Labuschagne’s wicket, Bumrah took his series tally to 32, setting a new record for the most wickets by an Indian bowler in a Test series in Australia. He surpassed the legendary spinner Bishan Singh Bedi, who had claimed 31 wickets in five matches during the 1977-78 series.
