Mohammad Rizwan Reacts To Online Jokes About His English Speaking

Rizwan stated that he's neither embarrassed nor concerned about his language skills.

Pakistan cricket captain Mohammad Rizwan is often mocked on social media for his English, but the Multan Sultans skipper has made it clear that he's not affected by the criticism.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of PSL 2025, Rizwan stated that he's neither embarrassed nor concerned about his language skills. He emphasized that confidence comes from character, not fluency in English.

During a press conference, he told reporters, as quoted from Geo News, "I regret not completing my education, which is why I don't know English, but I am not ashamed that as Pakistan's captain, I cannot speak English."

"The demand from me is to play cricket, not to speak English. If Pakistan wanted English, I would become a professor, learn it, and return. But Pakistan asks me for cricket, not English," he added.

Pakistan continues to face heavy criticism due to their disappointing run of form. Amid the ongoing backlash, captain Mohammad Rizwan has appealed to critics to take a more constructive approach - urging them to offer guidance and practical solutions rather than just criticism, as the team looks to recover from this difficult phase.

"It's fine to criticise the team, but also guide us on how to improve. Recently, during the Champions Trophy, Wasim Akram gave us advice. I wanted to talk more with him, but there wasn't enough time," he said.

Leading Multan Sultans in PSL 2025

Rizwan is currently leading Multan Sultans in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. His captaincy has been under the spotlight recently, especially after Pakistan's poor performances.

Under his leadership, Pakistan suffered a 3-0 ODI series defeat to New Zealand and were eliminated in the league stage of the Champions Trophy 2025. With pressure mounting, Rizwan now has a chance to turn things around in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
