‘Kutte Ki Dum…’: Virender Sehwag Takes Dig At Pakistan Over Ceasefire Violation

Virender Sehwag slammed Pakistan's ceasefire violation using a popular Hindi idiom.

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took a sharp jibe at Pakistan after the country violated the ceasefire agreement on May 10 (Saturday), targeting multiple locations along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC) — including Jammu & Kashmiri’s Srinagar — as well as areas in Punjab and Rajasthan, just hours after agreeing to a truce with India.

Taking to his official social media handle of X (formerly Twitter), Sehwag shared a photo that has a text saying, "kutte ki dum tedi ki tedi hi rehti hai." The saying is a a well-known Hindi idiom implying that some things never change, no matter how much effort is made.

Pakistan Army Breaks Ceasefire Within Hours After Agreement

Notably, Pakistan’s escalation came soon after it reached out to India proposing a full ceasefire and the latter declared a ceasefire agreement between the two countries. The Pakistani government also confirmed the truce shortly after.

US President Donald Trump also announced the development on his Truth Social, saying: “After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence.”

However, despite the ceasefire agreement, multiple explosions were reported in Srinagar, prompting a red alert and enforced blackout in the region. Meanwhile, drones were also shot down in Rajasthan’s Pokhran and Kashmir’s Baramulla.

Moreover, aerial activity was reported in Katra, the base camp for pilgrims visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, leading to a blackout in the area.

In Punjab, drone sightings were reported across multiple locations, including Gurdaspur, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar and Faridkot.
