Kapil Dev has responded to Yograj Singh's shocking claim about wanting to ‘put a bullet’ through his head upon being dropped from the team.

Kapil Dev, the former India all-rounder and 1983 World Cup-winning captain, has responded to a controversial statement made by Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh. Yograj Singh, a former India cricketer, had claimed that he once wanted to kill Kapil Dev for dropping him from the national team.

In an interview on the YouTube channel "Unfiltered by Samdish," Yograj sparked headlines with a shocking revelation about his past animosity toward Kapil Dev. Yograj, who represented India in just one Test and six ODIs during the early 1980s, claimed he once harbored intentions of killing Kapil Dev after being dropped from the national team.

“When Kapil Dev became captain of India, North Zone, and Haryana, he dropped me for no reason. My wife wanted me to ask Kapil questions. I told her that I would teach this bloody man a lesson," said Yograj on "Unfiltered by Samdish".

"I took my pistol out, I went to Kapil’s house in Sector 9. He came out with his mother. I abused him a dozen times. I told him because of you I have lost a friend and what you have done, you will pay for it. I told him, ‘I want to put a bullet through your head, but I am not doing it because you have a very pious mother, who is standing here.’ I told Shabnam, ‘Let’s go.’ That was the moment I decided I would not play cricket, Yuvi will play," Yograj continued.

'Kaun Hai Ye? Kiski Baat Kar Rahe Ho?': Kapil Dev

After Yograj’s statements went viral, Kapil Dev was questioned about the comments. However, the 1983 World Cup hero brushed off the question and acted like he didn't know who Yograj was. 

"Kaun hai ye? Kiski baat kar rahe ho (Who is he? Who are you talking about)?"

When a reporter clarified that the remark was made by Yuvraj Singh's father, Kapil Dev responded with a curt, “Acha, aur kuch? (Oh, anything else?)".
