Jasprit Bumrah's Wife Sanjana Slams Trolls For Targeting Son Angad

Sanjana urged people to stop making baseless assumptions about a young child based on a few seconds of footage.

Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah's wife, Sanjana Ganesan, has hit back at online trolls who made inappropriate and insensitive comments about their son, Angad.

Sanjana and Angad were in the stadium during Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants match on Sunday when Angad's reactions caught the attention of social media users.

Sanjana's strong message to trolls

Clips showing Angad's neutral facial expressions quickly circulated online, sparking a flood of memes and unnecessary criticism. Some users mocked the child for not smiling during moments of celebration.

Responding strongly, Sanjana urged people to stop making baseless assumptions about a young child based on a few seconds of footage. She emphasized that Angad was simply captured in candid moments and criticized the spread of "useless and insensitive" commentary.

Ganesan urged people to avoid making assumptions about her young son based on brief video clips.

"Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment. Jasprit and I do everything in our power to keep Angad away from social media because the internet is a despicable, vile place to be and I completely understand the implications of bringing a child to a cricket stadium filled with cameras, but please understand that Angad and I were there to support Jasprit and nothing else," she said in her strong message to trolls.

Sanjana strongly criticized those who irresponsibly associated mental health terms like "depression" with her 1.5-year-old son, Angad.

“Throwing around words like trauma and depression in reference to a baby says so much about who we're becoming as a community and it's honestly really sad. You know nothing about our son, nothing about our lives and I request you to keep your opinions online true to that,” she said on Instagram Stories.

Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan were married in 2021 and welcomed their son, Angad, in September 2023.

The couple recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in March. In the IPL, Bumrah reached a mega milestone on Sunday, becoming the highest wicket-taker for Mumbai Indians in IPL and helping his team secure a 54-run win over Lucknow Super Giants.
