Jasprit Bumrah No Longer No. 1 Bowler In ICC Test Rankings, Gets Replaced At The Helm By...

Jasprit Bumrah has lost his number 1 spot in the ICC Rankings for Test bowlers.

Jasprit Bumrah, India's pace spearhead, is no longer the number 1 bowler in the world in Test match cricket. The right-arm Mumbai Indians (MI) fast bowler lost his place at the top of the ICC Test bowling rankings by South Africa's Kagiso Rabada who recently became the fastest in the world to 300 Test wickets, taking the fewest number of deliveries to get to the landmark in South Africa's first Test against South Africa.

Rabada surpassed Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, Josh Hazlewood to reach the summit of the ICC Men's Test bowling rankings following his nine-wicket haul in Proteas' opening Test match against Bangladesh. The 29-year-old took three wickets in the first innings encourse to getting to the 300-wicket mark quicker than anyone else in the world. He then produced 6 for 46 as the South Africa tasted their first Test in Asia since 2014.

Bumrah And Ashwin Drop Below Hazlewood, Career-Best Ranking For Noman Ali

Rabada's rise in the Test rankings comes as both Ashwin and Bumrah had ordinary outings in India's Test loss to New Zealand which resulted in their first Test series defeat at home in the last 12 years. The two of them showed dropped below Hazlewood and now find themselves sitting at the third and the fourth places respectively.

Pakistan's left-arm spinner Noman Ali also witnessed a massive improvement in their rankings and moved up nine places to go eighth after his nine-wicket haul in Rawalpindi that helped the Men in Green complete a Test series win over England. This also marks Noman's career-best rankings as he has previously never entered the top ten of the Test bowlers' rankings.
