MS Dhoni played his last international match during the semi-finals of 2019 ODI World Cup. As per board regulations, he is now eligible to be retained by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as an uncapped player.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) may choose to retain leg-spinner Karan Sharma, who last represented Team India in 2014.
