IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants Mentor Gautam Gambhir Hails KL Rahul, Calls Him 'Three In One Player'
Ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, Lucknow IPL team's mentor Gautam Gambhir explained why choosing KL Rahul as Lucknow's skipper is the best decision.
New Delhi: The preparations for the Indian Premier League 2022 have started. In this season, 10 teams will be seen playing instead of 8 after the addition of two new teams Lucknow Super Giants and Ahmedabad.
Ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, Lucknow IPL team's mentor Gautam Gambhir praised his team and KL Rahul. He explained why choosing KL Rahul as Lucknow's skipper is the best decision. Gambhir believes that Rahul is a "three in one player".
Gautam Gambhir praised KL Rahul and said, "He is such a player who bats, does wicketkeeping and captains as well. It is very difficult to get 'three in one' today. If you look at the entire IPL, there is no 'three in one' player. He is a very dynamic cricketer and has scored a lot of runs in the last two-three years."
On Rahul's captaincy, he said, "There is commonness in him. It is very important for any captain to have calm and balance. When you win, don't go too high and when you lose, don't go too low. As is the captain's temper, so is the team."
In praise of Lucknow, the city of his IPL franchise, Gambhir said, "The best thing for me is that it is the largest city in the country. If you play well then you will also have the biggest fanbase, what can be better than this."
On the question regarding his team's preparations for IPL 2022, he said, "There is no clarity from the BCCI yet, only after it comes we will know when the practice and other things will start."
