IND vs ENG: Manchester Test 'Not Starting On Friday' After Indian Support Staff Tests Covid Positive, Final Decision Pending
IND Vs ENG 5th Test: The start of the 5th and final cricket Test match between England and India has been deferred by a day. Official confirmation soon.
The start of the 5th Test between India and England has been postponed as one of the staff members in the Indian team tested positive for Covid-19. The match is now likely scheduled to start on Sunday, 12 September 2021 as per ANI.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) discussed this matter at length on Thursday and Friday and have decided to not start with the 5th Test match on Friday.
"Yes, it is not starting today, More test results are awaited before a call is taken on starting on Saturday," a source close to BCCI told ANI.

There is still an official announcement to come on the matter. ANI reported that the fate of the 5th Test between India and England will be decided after the results of another COVID19 test will come which was taken on Thursday.
Such a situation has arisen due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases inside the Indian team. Earlier in the week, India's head coach Ravi Shastri and four other staffers were found Covid-19 positive. The Indian team, meanwhile in undergoing a second round of RT-PCR tests on Friday.
