India Vs England 3rd Test: England Won The Toss And Choose To Bat At Narendra Modi Stadium

India vs England 3rd Test is underway at the newly named Narendra Modi Stadium is ready to host the coveted fixture.

England’s Captain Joe Root won the toss and decided to bat first on a pitch that is definitely harder and less vulnerable than the one at Chepauk in Chennai. It was not a very tough decision to make for the skipper. The ball is expected to swing early on but we will have to wait for 40-50 overs to see if the old ball reverses.

The stadium at Ahmedabad has two kinds of pitches kept ready. The one with red soil and the other with black soil. As far as the team selection goes, there aren’t many changes in both the teams. Virat Kohli had suggested the importance of seamers on this pitch in a virtual press conference on Tuesday, thus he has decided to go with two seamers this time.

Weather & Pitch Report:

The weather is likely to be hot and sunny for the five days of the Test match. There is expected to be some swing in the air and also some seam off the wicket. It will help the seamers more than it will help the spinners.

The pitch, on the other hand is hard and has a coverage of green grass all over it. Thus, we can expect things to be a lot different from what we saw in Chennai.

The Pink ball factor:

The third Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium will be only the second Day&Night Test in India. The pink ball, when goes up in the air sometimes goes out of sight due to the flood lights and the black sky.
