IND Vs ENG, 2nd ODI: England Opt To Bat In Decisive ODI At Cuttack — Playing XI Details Inside

IND Vs ENG, 2nd ODI: Check below the playing XI's and toss update from the Cuttack ODI between India and England.

IND Vs ENG, 2nd ODI: Jos Buttler wins the coin toss and decide to bat first, as India and England are set to lock horns in the decisive 2nd ODI at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. India won the first ODI and can seal their first ODI series win since 2023 with a win tonight.

England are on the verge of suffering their 4th successive ODI series defeat, with their last win dating back to September 2023, where they defeated Ireland 1-0.

It will be hot and humid out there in Cuttack, but promises a good outcome for the batters, as the history at the venue suggests that there is a run-fest loading. The boundaries too, are short, and with a decent outfield, the ball will be travelling once it surges past fielders via a gap.

Here's What The Captains Said During The Toss

Jos Buttler (England Captain):

"We are going to bat first today. We are pushing in the right direction, played better for longer and hopefully a good day today. Yeah of course, continuing the play we want to play and be smart as well. The two guys started well in the powerplay, the run-out sort of gifted them the momentum back. Looks dry, black soil. Hopefully a good crowd again have a good day. Mark Wood, Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton come back into the XI."

Rohit Sharma (India Captain):

"Yeah it was a good performance overall. We bowled well, we batted well. It's just about continuing with the same performances and take one game at a time. (On the 1st ODI Win) Yeah absolutely, I really loved the energy of the boys on the ground. Despite the same group of boys not being on the ground for a while, it was really important to get that energy going from ball one. We want to continue doing the good things on the field."

"(On Shreyas and Gill) Yeah it was superb to watch. One of the individuals had to take the bowlers on and lyer did that pretty well. That's his strength and he does that for the team. He stays focused and does what the team requires. Not to forget the partnership between Gill and Axar."

"Looks like a typical Indian pitch. It's a black soil. I feel that it will get slower and slower as the game progresses. We have made 2 changes. Yashasvi Jaiswal misses out and Virat is back. Kuldeep has been rested and Var makes his Debut."
