New Team India Head Coach To Assume Role In India vs Sri Lanka Series, Reveals BCCI Secretary Jay Shah
BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced that Team India's new head coach will commence his tenure starting from the Sri Lanka series in July.
Jay Shah, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, announced on July 1 (Monday) that the Indian cricket team will see a new head coach appointed ahead of the upcoming limited-overs series in Sri Lanka later in the month of July, as per a PTI report. However, Shah did not disclose the name of Rahul Dravid's successor. India are slated to visit Sri Lanka in July, with the first match of the tour set to be played on July 27.
It is widely anticipated that former opener Gautam Gambhir will take over from Rahul Dravid as India's head coach. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has conducted interviews for the role and has short-listed Gambhir along with former India women's coach WV Raman.
