WTC 2023 Final All Set! India To Face Australia After New Zealand Secure Victory Over Sri Lanka

This win clearly states that India have now qualified for the World Test Championship finals that is scheduled to take place on June 7–11  at The Oval, London.

The Indian team have sealed a place in the final of the World Test Championship that is scheduled to take place on June 7–11  at The Oval, London. It happened because Sri Lanka lost on day 5 of the Christchurch Test against New Zealand by two wickets. Now, even if India ends the game on a draw or even if they lose the fourth Test in Ahmedabad against Australia, it will not cost them anything.

Sri Lanka were required to whitewash New Zealand in order to make the final, but their loss resulted in India getting into the final instead. The contest was heading to a draw as the rain tried to play spoilsport in Christchurch but then Kane Williamson's heroics with the bat alongside Daryl Mitchell witnessed New Zealand win the game by two wickets.

India on the other side are engrossed in playing against the Australians in the fourth Test in Ahmedabad where Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill played a crucial role in India's comeback as both scored centuries. As a result, India posted 571 runs, giving a lead of 91 runs. In reply, Australians are batting at 97 with the loss of one wicket. Travis Head and Labuschagne are batting patiently on day 5 of Ahmedabad's Test.

Earlier, India started their campaign for the cycle in England by taking a 2-1 lead in the series against Joe Root's led team, before the fifth Test was rescheduled until 2022 because of Covid.

Talking in detail about the WTC final, it will take place at the Oval from June 7. Once again, fans will witness the rivalry between India and Australia in an International Cricket Council (ICC) event. Both India and Australia will lock horns for the first time in Men’s cricket in about 20 years.
