IND Vs WI 3rd ODI: Can India Whitewash The Windies & Who Gets Dropped If Shikhar Dhawan Plays?
IND Vs WI Match Preview: The big question before fans would be about the team combination as Shikhar Dhawan is set to make a return to the team after being out for a week due to Covid-19.
India will face West Indies in the third and final ODI of the IND Vs WI series on Friday. India has already sealed the series by winning the first two matches, but will team India whitewash West Indies in the 3rd ODI?
The 3rd ODI will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The big question before fans would be about the team combination as Shikhar Dhawan is set to make a return to the team after being out for a week due to Covid-19.
“We will get Shikhar back for next game, and he needs some game time,” Rohit had said after 2nd ODI.
Thus, if Shikhar Dhawan is making a return, who will be kept out from the second ODI? We could see two to three changes in the side for the 3rd ODI. Deepak Chahar might get a chance in place of Shardul while Kuldeep also can be included in place of Yuzvendra Chahal.
Shikhar's arrival means no more Rishabh Pant at the top order. Cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra had a suggestion for the match, i.e. to drop Rishabh Pant to accommodate Shikhar Dhawan and to not make any other changes in the side.
"We don't mind losing a few games while trying out a few things. Because it is important to look at the long term goals. We will see what works out well for the team combination (for the final ODI)," said Rohit Sharma after 2nd ODI.
India tried experimenting in the 2nd ODI. Rahul Dravid's management swaped KL Rahul and Risbha Pant's positions, and to everyone's surprise, KL Rahul did bat really well in the middle order, where India really needs to have a stable batsman.
