After Krunal, These Seven Indian Cricketers To Miss Remaining T20Is Due To Covid-19 Concerns

IND Vs SL, T20I: The third T20I will be played on Thursday, 29 July while the 2nd T20I will be played today as per schedule on 28 July 8 pm.

Colombo: Sri Lanka vs India 2nd T20I will go as per schedule as confirmed by news agency ANI. There were doubts about the game taking place after Krunal Pandya was found Covid-19 positive. Even though the match will take place as per schedule, seven Indian players will miss the match for being in close proximity with Krunal Pandya. 

The third T20I will be played on Thursday, 29 July. 

"The second T20I will go ahead later today and the last T20I will be played tomorrow," a source told ANI on Wednesday.

The seven players to miss the series are Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Chahar, Manish Pandey, Ishan Kishan, and K Gowtham. 

"The second T20I between Sri Lanka and India originally scheduled to be played on July 27 has been pushed forward by a day and will now take place on Wednesday, July 28," the BCCI had said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Following the Rapid Antigen Tests conducted ahead of the match on Tuesday morning, Team India all-rounder Krunal Pandya was found to be positive. The Medical Teams have identified eight members as close contacts. The entire contingent is undergoing RT-PCR tests today to ascertain any further outbreak in the squad," it added.

According to ANI, eight Indian players who were in proximity of Krunal Pandya, were being isolated. Two of them are Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav who are set to join the India team in England for the Test series. If they test positive, they might miss the upcoming England series from August 4.
