Emerging Asia Cup Final: After Tayyab Tahir's sensational ton helped Pakistan A post a formidable first-class total, their bowlers made sure that they win the match despite a good start from India A

Led by Tayyab Tahir's stunning hundred, Pakistan A have comprehensively beaten India A by 128 runs in ACC Men's Emerging Asia Cup final at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday (July 23). While the Pakistan A side posted 352/8 after India A won the toss and elected to field first, in response India A were bowled out for just 224. Tayyab Tahir was the star with the bat for Pakistan A as he scored an incredible hundred.

While Pakistan A were at one stage 187/5 after a 121-run opening stand between Saim Ayub (59) and Sahibzada Farhan (65) with the Indian bowlers and fielders dominating the phase of the game in between, following that it was all about Pakistan A, at least for the rest of the first innings. Tayyab Tahir and Mubasir Khan stitched a crucial 126-run stand for the sixth wicket which helped Pakistan A get to a mammoth total.


For India A, Riyan Parag picked 2 wickets for 24 runs while Rajvardhan Hangargekar scalped a couple of wickets conceding 48 runs. Nishant Sindhu, Manav Suthar and Harshit Rana picked a wicket each.

In India's run-chase, openers Sai Sudharsan (29)  and Abhishek Sharma (61) got the team off to a positive start. However once they got out, Yash Dhull (39) managed the only real score of substance with other succumbing to scoreboard pressure amid rising required run rate and the fear of leaving themselves too much to do in the end. In the end though, India A failed to play out their 50 overs and were bowled out in 40 overs.

Sufiyan Muqeem was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan A, scalped 3 wickets for 66 runs. Mohammad Wasim, Mehran Mumtaz and Arshad Iqbal picked two wickets apiece.
