IND vs NZ, 2nd Test, Day 2: India Stage Strong Comeback To Bowl Out Kiwis For 235, Lead By 7 Runs At Tea

After the hosts got off to a solid start with openers Tom Blundell (30) and Tom Latham helping them post 63/0 at Stumps on Day 1, Indian bowlers roared back to form as New Zealand were reduced to 142/5

After a rather lackluster batting performance by India on the opening day of the Christchurch Test which saw them fold out for 242, the bowling attack helped the visitors stage a strong comeback on Day 2 by bundling out the Kiwis for 235 and taking a 7-run lead at Tea . After the hosts got off to a solid start with openers Tom Blundell (30) and Tom Latham helping them post 63/0 at Stumps on Day 1, Indian bowlers roared back to form as New Zealand were reduced to 142/5 at lunch on day two of the second cricket Test here at the Hagley Oval on Sunday. Once Blundell were sent back to the pavilion by Shami, the Indians continued to chip in with the wickets as Ross Taylor (15) was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja having him caught at point and Mohammed Shami then castled Tom Latham (52) who was looking good. Henry Nicolls was also gone soon after, Virat Kohli taking a sharp catch at second slip off Shami as India went into the break on a high. Post the lunch session, the Bumrah dismissed Watling and Tim Southee in quick succesion to leave the Kiwis reeling at 153/7. There was some stiff resistance by Colin de Grandhomme, Kyle Jamieson and Neil Wagner which helped the Kiwis almost level India's first innings score.Mohammad Shami then polished off the tail by dismissing both Jamieson and Wagner to help India get back into the game.
