IND Vs ENG: England Coach Silverwood Hints At Change In Opening Combination For 2nd Test Against India

India vs England: The second Test of the series is scheduled to be played at Lord's from August 12-16. Young opener Haseeb Hameed and all-rounder Moeen Ali may return to the England team.

India vs England: Young opener Haseeb Hameed is likely to return to the England team for the second Test against India at Lord's Cricket Ground from August 12-16. All-Rounder Moeen Ali could also be included in the England team for the second Test. Team coach Chris Silverwood has hinted at a change in the team for the second Test. Haseeb Hameed, 24, had made his debut in the 2016 series against India. In his first Test match in Rajkot, he played a brilliant innings and scored 82 runs. However, he has not found a place in the England team after this series.

In the first Test at Trent Bridge, both England openers, Ronnie Burns and Dominic Sibley did not do well in both innings. It is being reported that the opening pair may see a change in the next Test. Regarding Haseeb's inclusion, Coach Chris Silverwood said, "I'm sure Haseeb is all set to play. He has been working very hard for it. He scored a brilliant century in the last county match played in Durham. He has batted exceptionally well in the last few seasons, which shows his class. So I think Haseeb's place in the team is well-deserved."

Moeen Ali May Be Included In Playing XI

Team England felt the need for a quality all-rounder in its first Test against India. Moeen Ali can prove extremely effective for the team, which is suffering due to the absence of Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes. Moeen will also make up for the shortage of a spinner in the team while strengthening the lower order in the batting lineup. However, Moeen was not a part of the team for the first test series against India.

Silverwood said, "Moeen is being considered for the next Test. He has always been a part of our plan. Captain Joe Root and I will discuss this matter before the Lord's Test. We know that Moeen is a great cricketer and he is doing really well in The Hundred tournament as well." At the same time, he said, "Nothing has been decided yet, but if the team needs him at Lord's, Moeen would definitely be considered."
