IND vs ENG 2nd Test HIGHLIGHTS: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jasprit Bumrah Script India's Series-Levelling Win In Visakhapatnam

IND vs ENG 2nd Test HIGHLIGHTS: 0-1 down after losing the series opener, India beat England by 106 runs in Vizag to level the series 1-1.

IND vs ENG 2nd Test HIGHLIGHTS: India beat England by 106 runs in the second Test match of the five-match series at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium in Visakhapatnam to level the series 1-1. After winning the toss and elected to bat first, Yashasvi Jaiswal's double hundred helped the hosts post a formidable 396. The left-hander's 209 in an Indian innings where no other batter crossed the 35-run barrier deserves a special mention set the tone for India's dominance.

However, that was not the only individual contrubution that was the headlining act in India's series-levelling victory. On Indian wickets known to assist spinners, Jasprit Bumrah produced a spell to be remember for a long time as he scalped a six-wicket haul in the first innings, giving away only 45 runs. He returned to scalp wickets in cruical instances of England's attempted chase of 400 as India finally came out on top.

It was fitting that Bumrah sealed India's win on Day 4, rattling the stumps of Tom Hartley with a superb delivery. For England, Zak Crawley's 73 off 132 apart from contributions from the other top-order batters kept England in the hunt even when they were chasing 400. The Three Lions stuck to their BazBall approach which meant they were scoring runs at a brisk rate even when they lost a few wickets in clumps.

Shubman Gill's Hundred Under Pressure Helped India Set England A Stern Target

In India's second innings, it was Shubman Gill's hundred that put India on the drivers' seat. Gill was under pressure to perform after a string of low scores and  the right-handed batter delivered scoring 104 off 147 as India scored 255 in the second innings after dismissing England for 253 in their first in which again it was Crawley who had managed to top score, making 76 off 78 deliveries.

In the fourth innings, Ravichandran Ashwin picked 3/72 to reach to 499 Test scalps and break the record for being the highest wicket-taker against England in Tests, apart from Bumrah's 3/46. But it was a direct hit from Shreyas Iyer which caught Ben Stokes short of his crease that was a massive moment in that chase. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar scalped a wicket each as India bowled out England in 69.2 overs after taking 55.5 overs to bowl them out in their first innings.
