Indian opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Rohit Sharma made history by guiding the team to fastest 100 runs ever scored in Test cricket.

In India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test match in Kanpur, Rohit and Jaiswal launched an aggressive start to chase down Bangladesh's first innings total of 233 runs, taking team's total to 12 runs. Jaiswal hit three fours off Hasan Mahmood in the opening over.

In the following over from Khalid Ahmed, captain Rohit began his innings explosively, hitting two sixes off the first two balls he faced. Jaiswal then finished the over with a four, helping the team amass 17 runs in that over.

In the third over, Hasan Mahmood was once again at the receiving end of the aggressive Indian duo. Rohit struck a six while Jaiswal added two fours, allowing India to surpass the 50-run mark in just 3 overs, making it the fastest score in Test cricket history.

The 55-run partnership between them ended in just 3.5 overs when Mehdi Hasan Miraj took the wicket of Rohit Sharma, who scored 23 runs off 11 balls, featuring one four and three sixes. Jaiswal continued his charge, scoring 72 in just 51 balls before getting out.

Alongside his record partnership with Rohit, Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the fastest Indian opener to score a half-century in Test cricket. 

He reached this landmark in just 31 balls during the first innings of IND vs BAN 2nd Test, breaking the previous record held by former opener Virender Sehwag, who had scored a half-century in 32 balls.

During their partnership, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal set an incredible scoring rate of 14.34 runs per over, marking the fastest run rate in a Test partnership for a minimum of 50 runs. This achievement surpassed the previous record held by England's Ben Stokes and Ben Duckett, who had scored at a rate of 11.86 runs per over in their 87-run partnership off 44 balls against the West Indies at Edgbaston, earlier this year.
