Australia T20 squad for IND vs AUS T20 series: Cricket Australia made significant changes to their T20 squad for the remaining three IND vs AUS T20Is. Players such as Steve Smith, Adam Zampa, Glenn Maxwell, Sean Abbott, Josh Inglis, and Marcus Stoinis will head back home, confirmed by cricket.com.au in a recent release. Adam Zampa, who concluded the World Cup with 23 wickets, matching Muttiah Muralitharan's record for most wickets by a spinner in a single edition, has already departed, along with Steve Smith. Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, and Sean Abbott will fly back Down Under tomorrow.
Wicket-keeper batter Josh Phillippe and Ben McDermott have joined the squad and are set for the third T20. Ben Dwarshuis and spinner Chris Green are expected to join the team before the fourth match.
Chris Green, known for his extensive T20 experience across various domestic leagues, recently showcased his skills in domestic cricket, particularly for the NSW Blues in one-day and first-class cricket.
The changes to Australia's squad for the final two T20 matches leave Travis Head as the sole member from the World Cup-winning playing 11 participating in the ongoing five-match series. Tanveer Sangha, another key spinner for Australia in the T20 series, was also part of the World Cup squad. Notably, despite Head's World Cup heroics with a century, he is yet to feature in the T20 series.
Australia are set to play 10 T20 internationals in the lead-up to next year's T20 World Cup in the USA and Caribbean. They face a crucial match against India on November 28 (Tuesday), aiming to bounce back after losses in the initial two matches and stay alive in the series.
