IND vs AUS: The lights went out twice in quick succession at Adelaide Oval.

Day 1 of India vs Australia 2nd Test at Adelaide Oval saw a dramatic turn of events, with Indian batters failing to withstand Mitchell Starc's fiery bowling, collapsing for just 180 runs. Australia made a strong start in their reply, but the match was briefly interrupted twice due to a power outage at the ground, halting play on both occasions.

The unusual incident took place during the 18th over of Australia's innings, with Nitish Reddy bowling to Nathan McSweeney.

After two dot balls, as Reddy was about to deliver the third, Adelaide Oval was suddenly plunged into complete darkness when all floodlights went off.

Play was briefly halted, and although the game resumed, the lights failed again after just two more balls. Despite these interruptions, play resumed shortly, and Nitish Reddy was able to complete his over. Such power outages are a rare sight on Australian grounds.

Mitchell Starc Destroys India with Brilliant 6/48 in 2nd Test

At stumps on Day 1, Australia were 86 for 1, with Marnus Labuschagne (20 off 67) and Nathan McSweeney (38 off 97) steadying the ship after early loss of Usman Khawaja. The hosts trail India by 94 runs.

Earlier, Mitchell Starc ripped through India's batting lineup to dismiss them for just 180 runs. The veteran pacer took 6 wickets for 48 runs in 14.1 overs, troubling the Indian batters with his swinging deliveries. Starc struck early, removing Yashasvi Jaiswal on the first ball of the match, and later dismissed KL Rahul (37), Virat Kohli, Nitish Reddy (42), R Ashwin, and Harshit Rana.

In the second session, Australian pacers exploited the conditions with the pink ball, making great inroads into India's batting. For India, Nitish Reddy stood out as the top scorer, displaying a fearless approach with a solid 42 off 54 balls.
