November 27, the date on which India plays Australia in the 1st ODI will also mark the 6th anniversary of the death of Aussie cricketer Phil Hughes. The southpaw eventually succumbed to a fatal injury which resulted in his untimely death on the morning of November 27, 2014. Ahead of the start of the first ODI at SCG, both Indian and Australian cricketers will gather and hold 63-second applause for Phil Hughes. If one were to go by reports in the Australian media, the home team is likely to wear black armbands with Phil Hughes' initials on the occasion. Incidentally, the Indian team was there on the tour of Australia when Phil Hughes played his last cricket match before leaving for the heavens. All Sheffield Shield matches that were to follow were cancelled as the entire focus shifted towards Hughes. The prayers, unfortunately, weren't enough for Hughes to survive.
