I Am Rishabh Pant: Cricketer Told Bus Driver Who Rescued Him After Horrific Car Crash

Rishabh Pant Car Crash: It is now being learnt that a bus driver named Sushil was among the first ones to come to the cricketer's aid.

Team India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been seriously injured after road accident near Roorkee, Uttarakhand on Friday. The Delhi Capitals captain is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dehradun. The incident happened early morning  on December 30 where Pant's car rammed into the divider and the impact of the collision was such that the car caught fire. It is now being learnt that a bus driver named Sushil was among the first ones to come to his aid.

Bus Driver Sushil Rescued Pant

While talking to India Today, Bus Driver Sushil said that Pant was badly injured in the accident and limping when he arrived for his help. Sushil revealed what Pant told him. "I am Rishabh Pant," Sushil quoted the cricketer as saying to confirm his identity.

It was Sushil who reportedly pulled Pant out of the car which had caught fire. The bus driver also mentioned that while he was coming from Haridwar, Pant's car was coming from the direction of Delhi.

In this report, it has been claimed that Pant's car broke the barricades and slipped till at least 200 metres. 

Meanwhile, the BCCI has issued an health update of one of its contracted cricketers.

"Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun, where he will undergo MRI scans to ascertain the extent of his injuries and formulate his further course of treatment," an official release from the Board said.

"The BCCI is in constant touch with Rishabh’s family while the Medical Team is in close contact with the doctors currently treating Rishabh. The Board will see to it that Rishabh receives the best possible medical care and gets all the support he needs to come out of this traumatic phase," it added.
