From 'BRAVO' to 'CHAMPION', here's how DJ turns table in GT20 Canada
Bravo is is currently leading the Winnipeg Hawks team in Canada’s first-ever competitive T20 cricket league
DJ Bravo is currently ‘running the world’ to exhibit his all-round cricketing skills in the shortest format of the game. After having a successful stint with the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, Bravo has arrived in Canada to play the inaugural season of the GlobalT20 tournament.
The 34-year-old all rounder is currently leading the Winnipeg Hawks team in Canada’s first-ever competitive T20 cricket league. As he pulled up his socks for another tournament after IPL, he appeared with a change which was noticed during the GT20 matches.
Usually, Bravo puts jersey number 47 with his surname mentioned on his back. Previously he donned the number 400 during IPL and in GT20, he went for yet another change. Instead of ‘BRAVO’, it was written ‘CHAMPION’ on his jersey.
Well, it was probably one of the coolest way to carry one of his own hit song. Bravo released the song ‘Champion’ during the ICC T20I World Cup 2016 held in India.
Despite a change in his jersey, Bravo has kept intact the style of entertaining his fans. While bowling against Chris Gayle’s Vancouver Knight, he got the wicket of Babar Hayat. The batsmen failed to read one of Bravo’s slower ones and got clean bowled.
The ‘Champion’ celebrated this success in style and the spectators couldn’t hold themselves from shaking their legs.
And here's how the spectators enjoyed:
Bravo and his men started their GT20 journey with a victory against Lasith Malinga led Montreal Tigers by 64 runs on June 29.
However, they weren’t lucky enough to repeat the same performance in their last match against Chris Gayle’s Vancouver Knights, losing the game by 6 wickets.
