Fans on Twitter voiced their disappointment over the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee's decision to exclude in-form Ruturaj Gaikwad from India's T20I squad for the upcoming IND vs SL series.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has consistently performed well whenever given the opportunity, yet he was not even considered as a backup opener for the T20I series in Sri Lanka. Interestingly, Riyan Parag, despite having a poor run during the Zimbabwe tour, has been selected.
