England Vs West Indies 2nd Test: Joe Root Notches Up 32nd Test Ton, Goes Level With Steve Smith, Kane Williamson

England Vs West Indies 2nd Test: Joe Root continues to create history, as he now goes level with Steve Smith and Kane Williamson for Test International tons. Here are the details.

England Vs West Indies 2nd Test: English legendary batsman Joe Root created history against West Indies in the 2nd Test match at Trent Bridge, as the 33-year old scored his 32nd Test century and now goes level with the likes of fellow legendary batters such as Steve Smith and Kane Williamson for the number of centuries in Test Internationals. Not only modern era legends, Joe Root is now level with former Australian captain, the legendary Steve Waugh, who too, has 32 Test centuries to his name.

The manner in which he scored his century was astonishing, as he smashed the fuller length ball for a lovely drive towards the point region and celebrated his ton with a unique celebration.

Watch the clip here:

Joe Root managed to score 122 runs in 178 balls, as his knock consisted of merely 10 boundaries, but that did not stop the English legend from attempting his iconic 'Joe Root Ramp Shot', as he smashed Shamar Joseph for a boundary in the 85th over of England's 2nd innings.

Can Joe Root Cross 'Alastair Cook's Centuries Record' In The 3rd Test Against West Indies?

Joe Root stands a brilliant chance of equalling, or maybe surpassing long-standing record of Alastair Cook, which is the number of Test International centuries for England. The former English legend holds the record with 33 Test centuries and Joe Root does stand a healthy chance of crossing the mark in the next match.

West Indies will face England for the third and last Test match of the series at Edgbaston, starting from July 26, and given the return in form of Joe Root, English fans can definitely see a line of records breaking at the end of this month.
