Six Or Out? Chris Woakes Claims Sensational Boundary Catch Of Salman Agha Before Umpire Deems It Not Out— WATCH
Chris Woakes thought he had done enough to catch Salman Agha off Jack Leach but the umpire deemed it a six.
The second day of the first Test match between Pakistan and England witnessed a dramatic moment on the field in Multan. The incident happened in the third ball of the 117th over with Jack Leach into the attack and Pakistan's Salman Agha on strike. The right-handed batter danced down the track to loft the ball towards the long off region but found Chris Woakes who threw the ball in before his momentum took him beyond the boundary before coming back in to claim a clean catch.
England started celebrating too. However, the on-field umpires went in for a boundary check and the TV umpire Chris Gaffaney found enough evidence to rule it a six. There was one particular frame in the replays that convinced Gaffaney that it was a maximum, much to the disappointment of the English fans who have already been toiling on the field after Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat.
