Champions Trophy Final: India's Dubai Record Signals NZ's Potential Defeat

India's dominance at the Dubai venue strengthens their position in IND vs NZ Champions Trophy 2025 Final match.

India and New Zealand are set to face off in IND vs NZ Champions Trophy 2025 final on Sunday (March 9) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Team India enters the summit clash with an unbeaten record in the tournament, including a thumping win over New Zealand in the group stage.

Meanwhile, the Kiwis will be eager to turn the tide and claim the title.

Can New Zealand overcome India's strong record in Dubai?

India's dominance at the Dubai venue further strengthens their position in IND vs NZ Champions Trophy 2025 match. The team has played 10 matches here, winning 9, with one ending in a tie.

Out of these, 9 were ODIs, and India emerged victorious in 8, maintaining an unbeaten streak at this ground. On the other hand, New Zealand has played three matches in Dubai, losing two, while one was abandoned. This stark difference in records gives India a clear upper hand in Sunday's IND vs NZ Champions Trophy 2025 Final.

Having won all their matches in the Champions Trophy 2025, India will look to extend their unbeaten run and secure yet another ICC title.

After 25 Years: India and New Zealand clash for CT Title

The last time India and New Zealand faced off in the final of an ICC limited-overs tournament was in the 2000 ICC Knockout Trophy (now the Champions Trophy).

On that occasion, New Zealand secured their first major ICC title by defeating India by four wickets. Led by Sourav Ganguly, India posted 264/6 in 50 overs, with Ganguly scoring 117 and Sachin Tendulkar adding 69.

However, Stephen Fleming-led New Zealand successfully chased the target, thanks to Chris Cairns' unbeaten 102 off 113 balls, which guided the Kiwis to a historic win.

Since then, New Zealand has been unable to win another ICC white-ball tournament. They reached the finals of the 2015 and 2019 ODI World Cups but fell short both times. Now, they have another chance to end their title drought as they take on Rohit Sharma-led India in the Champions Trophy 2025 final on Sunday.
